Golf
The Lawrence Country Club golf course was completely renovated under the direction of Todd J. Clark, ASGCA and re-opened for play in September, 2006. The course was nominated by Golf Digest as one of the top five renovated country club courses in the Midwest Region. All 18 holes were redesigned and sculptured to create a magnificent and challenging course for all levels of play. LCC is one of only two country clubs in the state of Kansas with bent grass tee boxes, fairways, and greens. LCC hosted the Women’s Big 12 Golf Championship in 2012. We offer an extensive golf program; whether you’re looking to just have fun, or seriously work on your game, you can find it all at LCC. Our Head Golf Pro and PGA Professional can help you fine-tune your swing, or teach beginners the basics!

Hole Description
A well placed tee shot, short of the fairway bunker, provides a wedge into a two-tiered green. Players can attack front pins but need to beware of back hole locations. Going long will result in almost certain bogey.

Hole Description
Distance control is at a premium with this mid- length par- 3. Right pins look the easiest but play the hardest. Aiming for the center of the green is a good idea no matter the pin location.

Hole Description
This downhill, short par-5 provides the best birdie opportunity on the course. An awkward tee shot must be fit into a tree lined fairway. A well-placed tee ball gives the player a great opportunity to go for the green in two.

402
302
Hole Description
The easiest hole on the course is followed by the hardest. This lengthy par-4 demands two great shots to reach the putting surface. Your work is not done once you reach the green as it slopes heavily from back to front. Par is a great score.

363
333
Hole Description
A downhill tee shot requires the player to navigate fairway bunkers on each side of the fairway. Two bunkers guard the right side of the green. Approach shots from the left side of the fairway or even left rough have the best chance to get close.

353
329

Hole Description
Players must keep their tee shot short of the pond that begins at the 100-yard marker. The second shot plays more uphill than it looks. A difficult up and down awaits any ball hit left of the green.

Par 3Men's Handicap: 11Women's Handicap: 15
208
186
162
139
Hole Description
One of the hardest par-3’s in Kansas. With OB left, water right, and native area long, the only place to miss is short. The front half of the green provides the widest landing area and should be the target regardless of pin location.

Par 4Men's Handicap: 3Women's Handicap: 3
419
396
374
261
Hole Description
The most intimidating tee shot on the course is made even tougher due to the prevailing south wind. The left half of the green is protected by a deep bunker. Most second shots should be played to the right side of the green. Balls landing right of the green will typically bounce onto the putting surface.

261
Hole Description
A well designed, short par-4 allows longer players to go for the green. Shorter players should aim for the left side of this split fairway as it provides an easier approach to a well protected green. Long is better short to any pin on the right side of the green.

Hole Description
Players must keep their tee ball left of the fairway bunker to set up their approach. Two well struck shots should provide a good look at birdie.

A picturesque par- 3 that is not long but certainly challenging. Playing away from the water to the right of the green leaves a tough up and down to save par.

Par 5Men's Handicap: 8Women's Handicap: 2
511
487
447
367
Hole Description
Don’t let the yardage fool you, it will take two big hits to reach this par- 5 in two. If you can’t reach the green in two, a layup to the 100-yard marker is the prudent play. It is much easier to attack front and back pin locations with a full shot.

367
343
322
265
Hole Description
Driver is not typically needed on this short dogleg right par- 4. A tee shot to the left of the fairway bunker leaves a short approach to this well protected green. Use caution attacking the back hole location, a ball that carries the green will likely bounce OB.

385
364
341

Hole Description
A smart tee shot to the 125- yard marker leaves a short second shot into this two- tiered green. Distance control is at a premium to back pins as the top tier runs away from you.

Par 4Men's Handicap: 12Women's Handicap: 6
365
343
309
286
Hole Description
Driving accuracy is at a premium on this short, straight par-4 as its nearly impossible to hit the green if you miss the fairway. Like #13, you cannot miss long to a back pin.

Hole #16
Par 4Men's Handicap: 2Women's Handicap: 4
441
405
373
300
Hole Description
Players must decide how aggressive they want to play the hole. A tee shot to the left side of fairway is much safer but leaves a long second shot over water. A tee shot that challenges the dogleg can roll to the bottom of the hill and leave a short wedge. The back left part of the green is heavily sloped from back to front and requires a well struck second shot.

169
152

Hole Description
Another great par- 3 that requires a precise iron shot. The front hole location provides a great birdie opportunity as balls feed to that area. Par is a great score to all back pins.

Hole #18
Par 4Men's Handicap: 10Women's Handicap: 10
405
371
337
298
Hole Description
One of the better finishing holes in the state. With OB to the right and water on the left, players must fit their tee shot into the narrowest fairway on the course. Once that is accomplished, an accurate approach shot is also required. Any shot missed to right of the green will result in a tough up and down.
